Wood's CRW Corp. Mourns Loss of its Founder

Charles R. "Bob" Wood, 78, died peacefully at his home in Charlotte, Vt., on July 7, 2012. Bob entered the construction equipment industry as a salesman for his uncle's company, Parker Danner Corp. It is here that Bob began a lifelong career that became one of his passions.  He soon moved to Vermont to work at a local branch office in South Burlington.

Bob started his own company, C.R. Wood Corp (CRW Corp.), in 1961. It was here that Bob made many lifelong friends and partners. He became an industry leader that was well known throughout the United States and Canada. In particular, he was very well known in the mobile crane and lifting industry. Bob retired from the business in 2006, after selling it to two of his five children. Bob’s homestead on Converse Bay in Charlotte was very important to Bob, as evidenced with the many landscaping projects he designed and managed over the years. His last project being completed just weeks before his death.

Bob was a very special individual who helped many he encountered over the years. He was a great friend and mentor to many in the community.  His tremendous spirit and attitude in the face of chronic health issues over the last decade, was a true inspiration for all who knew him.
