AmQuip Crane Rental, Trevose, Pa., has appointed Charles Snyder as president and CEO, effective Jan. 17, 2011. He will also join the company’s board of managers. Snyder most recently served as executive vice president of fleet operations for Sunbelt Rentals, where he was also a member of the board of directors. He has also worked as COO for NationsRent and was president of AMECO, a subsidiary of Fluor Corp.
“Charles has a unique background that includes both fleet management and sales and marketing experience, and he has also managed a sizeable crane fleet earlier in his career,” said Yuki Narula, an AmQuip director who represents AmQuip’s largest shareholder, Altpoint Capital Partners. “We believe that he is the ideal new leader of our management team,” he added.
Snyder replaces Frank Bardonaro, who left the company in August 2010 to join Terex Cranes as vice president and managing director in the Americas.
