APEM's New Sealed Switches are Ideal for Material Handlers | Construction News

APEM, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of high quality man-machine interface products, has introduced its13000 series sealed, momentary pushbutton switches designed for high-performance applications in material handling markets.

Ideal for applications that require robust construction and reliability, the 13000 series is the perfect choice for wireless remote controls and hand-held crane controls. It features a low behind-the-panel profile, an anodized actuator, a heavy-duty double shell casing, and is available in multiple colors.

The 13000 series push/pull switch maintains the down position when activated and takes an upward pull to de-activate. It takes about 5 lbs. of force to move the switch in either direction.

The switch is fully sealed to IP67. Gold-plated solid-silver contacts, a state-of-the-art O-ring and sealing washer, and epoxy-sealed terminals protect against water and dust. The switch bushing and hardware are available in black chrome-plated with the actuator dome in red anodized aluminum.

Panel seals withstand 1 bar pressure and remain sealed even when the switch is operated. Reinforced sealing is also available. The switch’s low profile construction makes it ideal for applications where behind-the-panel space is limited. Switch contacts are rated for low level switching and for resistive loads of up to 4 Amps at 24 volts of direct current (VDC).
