Canadian Crane & Rigging Conference Seeks Subject Matter Experts | Construction News

Organizers of the fifth annual Crane & Rigging Conference Canada (CRC Canada) are seeking subject-matter experts to give presentations at the conference Nov. 9-10, 2015, in Edmonton, Alberta.,

The conference theme is People - Processes - Productivity: Working together to improve safety in hoisting and rigging activities.

Qualified and interested potential presenters must submit proposals by June 15.

CRC Canada brings together crane and rigging professionals to advance the common goals of harmonizing worker qualifications, improving construction and business climate by standardizing regulations, and improving safety to reduce accidents.

Working in conjunction with the Canadian Hoisting & Rigging Safety Council and other important construction owner, contractor, government, and safety groups, the conference will provide a forum for discussion of key issues facing the crane and rigging industry in Canada.

CRC Canada is seeking crane and rigging and HSE subject matter experts to make 60-minute presentations or 90-minute workshops on topics such as:

  • Craft labor shortages, qualifying workers, best practices for training, predicting labor needs, and improving labor mobility.
  • Harmonization of hoisting and rigging standards across Canada , as well as practical and cost-effective methods for managing compliance, increasing productivity; 
  • Crane and Rigging operational and maintenance tips citing new research, technologies, or methods for improving safety and productivity.
  • Crane accident data, accident prevention, creation of proper safety culture.
  • Review overlapping standards and how to mitigate problems this causes to business/construction climate.
