The BRADEN UCB12 Utility Winch Bumper System, a new equipment option designed for medium-duty utility and service vehicles from Arrowhead Winch, was on display at EUFMC 2026.

The company announced the launch October 7, describing the UCB12 as a bumper-mounted system engineered for Class 4 vehicles. The system combines a hydraulic winch with a built-in capstan extension to support a range of field applications involving pulling, hoisting and recovery work.

Built on Arrowhead Winch’s TR Series planetary hydraulic winch platform, the UCB12 provides a rated line pull of 12,000 pounds. According to the company, the system is intended for utility crews performing tasks such as conductor, communication and fiber line pulling, underground cable work, pole installation and equipment handling.

The UCB12 features a three-position manual clutch that allows operators to engage the winch drum, shift to neutral freespool mode or activate the capstan. Arrowhead said the independent operation of the winch and capstan is designed to improve jobsite flexibility and operational control.

The system also includes a removable bumper shell to allow easier access for maintenance and replacement if damaged. Additional options include bolt-on chassis installation and accessories such as tow hooks, storage features, tie-downs and custom finishes.

“The UCB12 is more than a winch — it’s a productivity tool designed for the real-world demands of utility crews,” said Paul Hiltenbeitel, director of sales at Arrowhead Winch. “By combining pulling, hoisting and recovery functions in one rugged system, it not only makes crews more efficient but also extends the value of every truck in the fleet.”

According to Arrowhead Winch, the UCB12 is designed to support multiple jobsite functions through one integrated system while increasing truck utility for field operations.
