Caterpillar Inc. has launched its next generation of Cat telehandlers, designed to meet the needs of both retail and rental customers.
The new lineup includes the Cat TH0642, TH0842, TH1055 and TH1255 models, which replace the TL642, TL943, TL1055 and TL1255 machines, respectively.
“Working from a clean slate, our goal with the next gen telehandlers is to deliver a safe, reliable, smooth and comfortable range of machines that are easy to use and maintain,” Kevin Coleman, senior product consultant for Cat telehandlers said.
“Operators have provided extremely positive feedback on the telehandler’s stability, ease of control when handling heavy loads at height and the smooth ride over uneven terrain.”
Enhanced Operator Comfort and Control
The next gen telehandlers feature three operator station options:
The redesigned interior includes an ergonomic control layout, a standard tilt steering column and a new full-color LCD monitor. The monitor provides machine information in four languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese) and displays the standard rearview camera feed, which can be activated continuously via a soft key.
Standard safety features include an operator presence seat switch to prevent operation when the operator is not seated, and an optional load stability indication system, offering visual and audible alerts for forward stability while handling loads.
Improved Performance and Versatility
The new telehandlers are equipped with a pilot-controlled joystick for smooth, predictable multi-function boom operations. Customers can choose between two coupler interfaces:
Standard auxiliary hydraulics support hydraulically powered Cat attachments, enhancing versatility for various applications.
Advanced Features and Serviceability
To boost fuel efficiency, Cat telehandlers include a configurable engine idle shutdown feature. The monitor also incorporates a multi-operator code security system, supporting up to 50 codes to prevent unauthorized use.
Maintenance is simplified with extended service intervals and a patent pending tool for quick inspection of chains and boom wear pads. Structural components, including the boom sections, mainframe and stabilizer legs, are covered by a five-year, 5,000-hour warranty.
Integrated Technology for Efficiency
The new telehandlers come standard with Product Link Elite telematics, providing fleet managers with critical operating information. Remote flash capabilities allow software updates without dealer visits, while remote troubleshooting enables real-time diagnostics and parameter adjustments.Top of Form
