Hiab Introduces 6,500-Pound Moffett M8 Series

Hiab has introduced two MOFFETT truck-mounted forklifts for North America, the M8 65.3P NX2 and M8 65.4P NX2, with a rated lifting capacity of 6,500 pounds.

The new models increase capacity from 5,500 pounds to 6,500 pounds without adding to unladen transport weight, according to Hiab. The forklifts are available in 2-Way, three-wheel directional drive, and 4-Way, crab-mode directional drive configurations.

Both models use MOFFETT's Lift Assist system, which allows operators to extend up to 5,500 pounds across the full width of a truck or trailer bed at heights of up to eight feet. The system is designed for single-side offloading without repositioning the transport vehicle.

The NX2 platform includes a high-visibility Class III fork carriage, redesigned protective grille, and 360-degree strobe beacons. SideMount+ controls are positioned for curbside access, allowing operators to mount, dismount, and operate the controls away from live traffic lanes.

A 3.5-inch multifunctional color display provides information on tilt angles, fuel levels, and engine status. The forklifts also have an integrated CAN bus gateway that transmits operational data to cloud platforms through the MyHiab app and HiConnect network.

The system provides information for maintenance tracking and asset monitoring, according to Hiab.

The M8 models are powered by a 59-horsepower, 44-kilowatt Rehlko KDI 1903 Turbo diesel engine and include EasyService wide-access doors for routine maintenance.

The MOFFETT M8 65.3P NX2 and M8 65.4P NX2 are available to order immediately through Hiab's North American dealer network.
