Genie has simplified the way boom-lift users can enter and exit the platform.
New 8-ft. platforms for Genie boom lifts offer three entry points, and new 6-ft. platforms offer two.
The side swing gate allows users to walk or out easily even when wearing a tool belt, carrying a tool box, or needing to load materials onto the platform. Sliding mid-rail entrances in the front and sides of the platform offer alternative entry and exit points to accommodate changing worksite conditions.
All entry points are specifically designed to help an operator get in and out of the platform easily and efficiently with tools and jobsite materials ranging from pressure washers and painting supplies to light fixtures and window glazing.
The 6-ft. dual-entry boom is available for Genie's compact booms. The 8-ft. tri-entry platform is for Genie's larger models. Genie also engineered the new platforms with eight lanyard-attachment points to let operators work anywhere on the spacious platform.
Using proven design technology, Genie manufactures the rugged all-steel platforms so they will stand up to repeated use. Operators can also easily unbolt and replace the platform floor as needed. All of these improvements were made to the new Genie platform baskets without adding weight to the machine or sacrificing basket capacity.
The new dual- and tri-entry platforms can be used on any Genie boom lift that can be equipped with a 6-ft. or 8-ft. platform, so rental fleet owners can retrofit their existing machines to accommodate customers’ demand for the new features.
In addition, the new multi-entry baskets are compatible with most Genie accessories and options, including pipe cradles, panel cradles, and fall-arrest bars, so rental fleet owners can also use existing equipment to increase rental return on invested capital (rROIC).
The Genie dual-entry and tri-entry platforms will be available globally in the second quarter of 2016.
