Genie Launches QR Code Feature for Faster Access to Lift Information

Genie introduces Serial Hub with QR codes on lifts, giving users instant access to machine manuals, parts and service information.

Genie Launches QR Code Feature for Faster Access to Lift Information

Genie has introduced a new digital feature designed to simplify how equipment owners and operators access important machine-specific information. Through a platform called Serial Hub, users can now scan QR codes placed directly on Genie lifts to quickly retrieve key data, including the operator’s manual, maintenance guidelines, safety resources and parts availability.

The company began rolling out the QR code decals in July 2025. The decals are placed in easy-to-access locations on each machine, including the serial plate. Scanning the QR code with a smartphone or tablet opens a direct link to the Serial Hub, which delivers digital content specific to the machine’s serial number.

“The process is quick and simple,” explained Matt Skipworth, Genie VP global services & digital solutions. “You simply scan a new QR code decal, enter the machine’s serial number and affix it to the machine. If a QR code gets scratched or damaged, replacement QR codes can be purchased at a nominal cost and added to the lift the same way.”

The Serial Hub will also be accessible through GenieLift.com and the Genie customer portal, and will include convenient links for direct parts ordering, allowing users to order parts while standing next to the machine. There is no cost to access the platform or to have QR codes included on new machines.

Equipment owners can also retrofit existing Genie lifts with the QR code decals, which are available for purchase and can be linked to machines already in service.

“We’re always looking for ways to make incremental improvements to our machines, and our customer service and support. We saw an opportunity to enhance the user experience and streamline access to critical information, so we did it,” Skipworth said

As a digital platform, Serial Hub will evolve with ongoing updates from Genie. Planned features include walk-around videos, operator and technician training materials and more tools aimed at improving machine familiarity, safety and productivity. These features are currently in development and will be released as they become available.

Genie expects QR codes to be included on all new machines in North America by the end of 2025, with global rollout to follow.
