LEEA Calls on Industry to Support GLAD 2025 and Address Skills Gap

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has announced details on how organizations can participate in Global Lifting Awareness Day (GLAD) 2025, set for June 12. This year’s campaign centers on the theme “Lifting Careers, Building Futures,” with a strong focus on the industry’s ongoing workforce challenges.

GLAD 2025 aims to address the growing skills gap in the lifting sector by highlighting career opportunities, sharing workforce development strategies, and encouraging industry-wide collaboration. LEEA has invited companies and professionals to contribute content and activities that showcase how they are supporting recruitment and retention in lifting careers.

On the day of the campaign, LEEA will release the results of its “State of the Lifting Industry” survey, offering insights into employment trends and workforce challenges. Leading up to GLAD, the association is asking members and stakeholders to submit contributions in a variety of formats.

Ways to participate include:

  • Short videos (1-minute max): Topics may include personal career paths, recruitment advice, training programs, or day-in-the-life features from industry roles such as lifting engineers or inspectors.
  • Case studies or blogs: LEEA is collecting stories from companies already working to close the skills gap or promote careers in lifting.
  • Local events: Organizations are encouraged to host open houses or school visits to promote awareness of careers in the industry.
  • Social media engagement: Supporters can use #GLAD2025 and LEEA’s downloadable campaign graphics to raise awareness online and tag LEEA on LinkedIn.

Contributors may be featured across LEEA’s platforms, including its LinkedIn audience of over 24,000 followers.
