Lift and Access Seeks Entries for 2013 LLEAP Awards

Lift and Access magazine is seeking entries for its 2013 Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Aerial Platforms (LLEAP) Awards competition, the seventh year of the award program. LLEAP judges will evaluate and honor innovative products that were introduced to the industry between April 1, 2011, and Feb. 28, 2013. Products considered must be new, innovative, and beneficial to the state of the lifting equipment and access industry.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges that includes equipment-rental professionals, fleet owners, equipment service managers, industry consultants, and more. The panel rates each entry based on innovation, leadership, influence, and benefit. Categories include:

  • Aerial lifts: Self-propelled boom or scissor lifts, manually or self-propelled vertical lifts, specialty lifts, trailer- or truck-mounted aerials.
  • Material handlers: Rough-terrain telescopic or straight-mast forklifts.
  • Cranes: Rough-terrain, all-terrain, truck, telescopic boom crawlers, crawler cranes, boom trucks, and self-erecting cranes with capacities less than 100 tons.
  • OEM-Developed Features/Essential Components for OEMs: Features developed by an OEM for a new or existing aerial work platform, material handler, or crane.
  • Aftermarket Support Products or Services: Products and services developed and sold specifically for end users.

The judging panel will select one first-place (gold) and one second-place (silver) award winner in each category. The judges will also choose one machine and one support product for best all-around innovation. Winners in 2011 included the Terex Crossover 6000 boom truck, Eaton's LifeSense Hose Condition Monitor, the JLG 1500SJ telescopic boom lift, and OEM Data Delivery's Multi-Pump Fluid Data Tracker.

LLEAP Award winners will be recognized in the July-August 2013 issue of Lift and Access.

Equipment manufacturers and component suppliers may nominate their own equipment, designs, or products, and the Lift and Access staff or the judging panel may also submit nominations.
