Magni To Launch Low-Profile Mining Telehandler

Magni Telescopic Handlers will debut a new, mining-specific telehandler at MineExpo 2021, Sept. 13-15, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The new, low-profile TH U 5.8 is a fixed-body telescopic handler with features tailored for mining applications.

The TH U 5.8 can safely lift to a height of 26’ and can lift up to 11,000-pounds in an ultra-compact 17’ x 8’ frame. The compact design makes it perfect for underground mining and other tight spaces.

It is powered by a Deutz engine and comes standard with a hydrostatic transmission that allows precise movement and superior maneuverability.

Designed for use on steep grades, the TH U 5.8 has a special braking system designed for use in mines and that complies with various safety regulations. A special 50 PPM catalytic converter filters exhaust, making it safer for enclosed spaces.

Standard safety features on the fully air filtered and pressurized Magni cab include FOPS and ROPS protection, with the new mining unit containing an extra safety cage protecting the cab from falling objects.

Additionally, each Magni TH U 5.8 comes equipped with an LMI load limiting system that prevents operators from lifting unsafe loads. Emergency stop buttons both inside and outside of the cab add extra safety.

The TH U 5.8 can use a wide range of attachments, including work platforms, jibs, winches, and forks. An RFID system allows for automatic recognition of attachments and creation of specific digital load charts for them.
