STUDSON Expands SHK-1 Helmet Line With Single-Strap HighBar System

STUDSON has launched the HighBar-equipped SHK-1 Type II safety helmet, providing a new fit option for workers who prefer a streamlined alternative to nylon buckle harnesses. The helmet is now being distributed to construction, utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas and industrial maintenance sectors.

The HighBar system features a one-strap, buckle-free configuration designed to simplify adjustment and reduce contact with the face. “HighBar’s innovative adjustment system and hygienic material are now actively working to ease that transition, while ensuring workers receive the benefits of the most innovative Type II protection,” said Ryan Barnes, founder and CEO, STUDSON.

Polymer strap arms rotate upward when not in use and swing into position beneath the chin when deployed. The twist-dial mechanism underneath the chinstrap allows workers to adjust the fit with one hand. “The HighBar system increases the probability of the helmet being worn properly,” said Andrew Herrick, general manager, HighBar LLC. “We are excited that workers across construction, oil and gas, and beyond can now experience the intuitive, one-hand adjustment and hygienic polymer strap material.”

As with other STUDSON helmets, the SHK-1 incorporates Koroyd welded polymer tubes designed for impact absorption and ventilation. Twiceme Technology is included to allow optional storage of emergency health information for first responders.

The company now offers an augmented-reality try-on function for customers wanting to preview the updated chinstrap system.
