A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss

If you replaced the proverbial stone with the safety conscious crane and rigging company, you would get a picture of companies that understand there is no finish line—they just keep on rolling. Staying on top of ever-changing safety rules and standards is constant for these companies. They know not even the new Cranes and Derricks rule is the be-all, end-all to safety.

Speakers at the July Crane and Rigging Conference, hosted by Crane Hot Line’s publisher Maximum Capacity Media, drove that point home. Keynote speaker Walter Brumley of Shell Oil said, “When someone tells you to do something, figure out how you can instead of how you can’t’.” He advised attendees to do three things: 1) Gain knowledge. 2) Be proactive. 3) Understand OSHA 1926.1400.
