Manitowoc to showcase the Shuttlelift SCD15 at The Rental Show 2018

Manitowoc Cranes will showcase the Shuttlelift SCD15 at the 2018 edition of ARA’s The Rental Show, which will take place in New Orleans from February 18 – 21. The crane manufacturer will occupy booth #3021 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Manitowoc debuted the 15 USt carrydeck crane at last year’s The Rental Show, and in 2018, the company aims to once again show customers how the SCD15 was designed with the rental market in mind.

When most people think of the massive San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, few even consider it could have tight working spaces. But Golden State Bridge Inc. and Bigge Crane & Rigging knew working underneath the 30 acre bridge spanning from San Francisco to Oakland would present certain lifting space and access challenges. That's why they chose the Maeda MC285-2 Mini Crane to work on an elevated platform 160’ off the ground.

New Maeda CC1485 Telescopic Boom Crawler Crane Now Available

After making its American debut earlier this year at ConExpo 2017, Maeda USA is pleased to announce that its new Maeda CC1485 Telescopic Boom Crawler Crane model is finally available for sale and rental in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

The CC1485, which replaces Maeda’s LC785 model, features a 6.6 ton (6.0 mt) max lift capacity, 98“ (2.49 m) width, heavy duty steel undercarriage, hydrostatic transmission, no-outrigger design with a 72.2' (22.0 m) maximum hook height and near-zero tail swing.

When Manitowoc introduced the Grove TMS9000-2 in February of 2017, it also revealed the mantra behind the crane’s design: lighter, longer, stronger. It was these very same attributes that led R&D Crane Rental (R&D) to be the first company in Canada to take delivery of the new-model truck crane.

For the Burnside, Nova Scotia-based rental company, the TMS9000-2 represented an opportunity to grow its business and outperform the competition.

Grove GRT8100 Streamlines Operations on Pennsylvania Energy Projects

December 21, 2017 - B&K Equipment and Crane Service (B&K) is one of the latest North American companies to discover the benefits of Grove’s new lineup of rough-terrain cranes, which have been designed and tested at Manitowoc’s Product Verification Center (PVC) to ensure dependability in a wide range of working environments. Wyalusing, Pennsylvania-based B&K has been renting two Grove GRT8100 rough-terrain cranes for over a year. The 100 USt cranes have helped to streamline operations on several of the company’s projects, including the construction of a gas-fired power plant.

Commercial Construction Index Reveals Continued Optimism Among Contractors

Confidence in the commercial construction industry is strong, despite significant concerns around jobsite efficiency and labor productivity, according to the Q4 2017 USG Corporation + U.S. Chamber of Commerce Commercial Construction Index (Index). Released today, the Index shows that optimism remains high in the commercial construction industry, with 57 percent of contractors expecting to hire in the next six months and a large majority reporting stable or increased revenue expectations in the next year. The Q4 composite score is 74, up one point from Q3.

Manitowoc Celebrates Two Award Wins for New Models

Manitowoc’s new product development program has enjoyed its strongest year in recent times, and the company’s efforts are being recognized with two cranes that were launched in 2017 earning industry awards. The prize-winning Manitowoc cranes are the Hup 40-30 self-erecting crane from Potain and the TMS9000-2 truck crane from Grove.

Ion Warner, vice president of marketing and investor relations at Manitowoc, said the awards were deserved recognition for the company’s hard work in recent years.
