The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) hosted the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall from May 14 to 16 in Washington, D.C. The event showcased equipment and technology used in infrastructure development, including aerial work platforms and utility vehicles.
Organized with support from nearly 40 companies and trade associations, the event featured more than 80 pieces of machinery and drew over 15,000 attendees, including federal lawmakers, agency representatives, students and the general public.
Aerial equipment manufacturers participated alongside companies representing a range of construction sectors. The exhibits included interactive displays highlighting the role of equipment in modern infrastructure projects and initiatives aimed at addressing workforce needs in the skilled trades.
AEM’s Manufacturing Express was also on-site ahead of its tour across Texas. Visitors could take part in the Manufacturing Challenge and learn about workforce advocacy efforts, including the I Make America campaign.
“This event is a powerful reminder of how essential the construction equipment industry is in building a stronger America,” said Megan Tanel, president and CEO of AEM.
John Somers, AEM’s vice president of construction and utility sectors, added, “By spotlighting our industry’s innovations and emphasizing the challenges we face, we’re building momentum to solve real challenges that will promote a stronger, safer and more sustainable construction industry.”
The event was designed to strengthen ties between the construction equipment sector and federal policymakers while showcasing developments in equipment design, safety and workforce engagement.
