The American Ladder Institute (ALI) has announced plans for the 2026 National Ladder Safety Month, marking the program’s 10th year of promoting safe ladder use in both professional and residential settings.

Observed each March, National Ladder Safety Month was created by ALI to address ongoing ladder safety concerns across construction, access, maintenance and industrial work environments. The 2026 theme, “10 Years of Safer Climbing,” reflects a decade of safety awareness and education initiatives.

ALI notes that ladder incidents remain a persistent safety issue despite being largely preventable. The organization encourages employers, equipment users and safety professionals to use the campaign as a reminder to revisit training, inspection routines and safe access practices.

The month-long initiative is structured around five weekly safety topics: choosing the right ladder; check before you climb; set it up safely; climb safely, work safely; and safe steps with stepstools.

Supporting the campaign is ALI’s free online training library at laddersafetytraining.org, which provides year-round educational resources covering ladder safety fundamentals for various ladder types and applications.

National Ladder Safety Month is sponsored by a wide range of organizations involved in construction, manufacturing, safety services and equipment supply.

ALI, founded in 1947, is a not-for-profit trade association and the only approved developer of ANSI ladder safety standards in the United States.
