BendPak has expanded its PL-12000 tandem parking lift lineup with the PL-12000KDS and PL-12000KDT, two models designed to store vehicles in less space.
The lifts have a width of 206 inches, which is 15.5 inches narrower than the original PL-12000 models. According to BendPak, the reduced footprint can allow facilities to install more lifts within an existing building.
Each model has two independently operated platforms, allowing four vehicles to be stored in two parking spaces. Each platform is rated for 6,000 pounds, giving the lifts a combined capacity of 12,000 pounds.
The PL-12000KDS and PL-12000KDT use BendPak’s patent-pending independent platform design. Traditional double-wide parking lifts require vehicles on the lower level to be moved before vehicles above can be lowered. With the PL-12000 series, one platform can be lowered while the other remains in place, reducing the number of vehicles that need to be moved to access a vehicle on the upper level.
The design also provides double-car-width open front access for entering and exiting the lift.
“Our new PL-12000KDS and PL-12000KDT tandem parking lifts feature a narrower footprint than our original PL-12000 models for customers who want to maximize the number of lifts they can fit in their parking facility,” says Jeff Kritzer, BendPak president and CEO. “Reducing the width by 15.5 inches, from 221.5 to 206 inches, allows more vehicles to be stored in a facility without expanding the building space. When filling a warehouse, saving just a few inches per lift means 20 lifts can be installed instead of 19 or fewer — that’s space to accommodate at least four more cars.”
The PL-12000KDS has a standard maximum rise of 70 inches and short platforms. The PL-12000KDT provides an extended rise of 82 inches and long platforms.
Both models are intended for commercial and residential applications. They can lift cars, light trucks, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, golf carts, and other equipment.
The lifts use heavy-duty steel construction, galvanized lifting cables, and a powder-coat finish. Their hydraulic drive systems use tandem drive cylinders and an intelligent hydraulic circuit for equalized lifting.
Safety components include automatic safety locks at multiple heights, wide baseplates, and built-in front wheel stops. The double-width platforms help shield lower vehicles from leaks or drips from vehicles above.
The lifts can also be used for vehicle service. Their lightweight aluminum center decks slide out to provide open-center access to raised vehicles. BendPak covers both models with a five-year warranty.
