Bobcat Company will showcase its expanded compact excavator lineup at The Utility Expo and Equip Expo 2025 in Louisville, Ky. The company is debuting the new E17 and a redesigned E20, both available through U.S. and Canadian dealerships starting in November.
The compact models are designed for maneuverability and versatility in confined job sites, while still offering strong digging and lifting performance.
“We know our customers need machines that can deliver big results in tight spaces,” said Michael Wetzel, director product management at Bobcat Company. “The new E17 and E20 excavators are purpose-built for that challenge. They’re mini workhorses that give operators the power and lift capacity they need to tackle demanding jobs.”
Shared features include a load-sensing hydraulic system, fingertip joystick controls, reinforced covers for durability, improved tie-down points and automatic slew brakes for secure transport. Both models support a wide range of attachments.
The E17 has a zero-tail-swing design and retractable undercarriage, narrowing from 53.5 inches to 38.6 inches. With a rated lift capacity of 807 pounds, it is suited for landscaping, residential construction and rental fleets.
The E20 offers a rated lift capacity of 1,098 pounds, with 24% more arm digging force and 26% more lifting capacity over the blade than the previous generation. It comes standard with a long arm and blade, while optional cab upgrades add heating, auto shift and Bluetooth radio.
“Ultimately, our goal is to help operators succeed on every job,” Wetzel said. “The E17 and E20 give them the power to work faster, the precision to work smarter and the agility to work where other machines can’t.”
