Leppo Rents, Akron, Ohio, is raising awareness for breast cancer and autism with its two painted JLG boom lifts. Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2015, Leppo Rents has six locations and serves industries in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. The company is giving back to these communities by offering the 86-foot pink and yellow boom lifts for rent.

The theme for the pink Breast Cancer boom lift is “Fight like a girl,” while the yellow Autism boom lift reads, “Autism Awareness”. These messages are highly visible on the machines.

“We have several families within our organization that have been personally impacted by these diagnoses," said Jeff Ulman, vice president of rental for Leppo Rents. "Raising awareness is very important on both a professional and personal level.”

A minimum of 10% of the money generated by the rental goes directly to a partnering charity, including Autism Speaks and several area breast cancer-related charities.

Ulman said: “We’ve seen significant growth in our company and in the local economy in the past five years. We felt we have a strong platform to promote these machines, raise money, and ultimately help raise awareness for these causes.”
