CM Labs Simulations announced that it has acquired GlobalSim, a U.S.-based developer of advanced training simulators, in a move aimed at expanding simulation-based workforce development solutions.
According to CM Labs, the acquisition combines GlobalSim’s experience in simulator development with CM Labs’ training technology and engineering expertise. The companies said the integration will provide customers with access to a broader range of simulation-based training tools designed to improve operator preparedness, safety and productivity while reducing training costs.
The transaction also expands CM Labs’ presence in the United States through GlobalSim’s Salt Lake City, Utah, facility, which adds manufacturing resources and localized customer support.
“This is a natural evolution for two organizations that have decades of proven safety, precision and performance outcomes in port operations,” said Robert Weldon, CEO of CM Labs. “CM Labs and GlobalSim are uniting to deliver unmatched quality, value and support to our port customers worldwide.”
GlobalSim, which develops simulators for port, construction, industrial and military applications, has been active in simulation-based operator training for nearly two decades. Company leadership said the acquisition formalizes a long-standing relationship between the two organizations.
“GlobalSim and CM Labs have pushed each other to innovate for nearly two decades. Joining forces allows us to combine the very best technology, engineering talent and industry expertise from both organizations. Our teams share a commitment to excellence, and together we will deliver training systems that lead the simulation industry for many years to come,” said Brad Ball, vice president of sales and marketing for GlobalSim.
CM Labs said the acquisition supports its broader workforce development strategy by strengthening its ability to deliver simulation-based training systems to customers across multiple equipment sectors.
