National Crane introduced the NTC80 boom truck during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, adding a higher-capacity lifting option to its roadable boom truck lineup.

The crane offers an 80 USt capacity and a 156 ft five-section main boom. It was designed for applications requiring frequent movement between jobsites while maintaining lifting capability.

According to Bob Ritter, director of product management at Manitowoc, customer feedback played a key role in the development of the crane.

“The message we heard from customers was straightforward,” Ritter explained. “They needed more lifting capability, but the cranes still had to stay roadable and operate efficiently. The NTC80 was engineered to balance those priorities so crews can move, set up, and get to work without compromise.”

The crane features a trayless modular counterweight system allowing operators to configure counterweights depending on the job and truck chassis specification. Available packages include 12,000 lb, 18,000 lb and 24,000 lb configurations.

Four-position outriggers provide a 24 ft full-span setup, while an optional single front outrigger configuration can be used in tighter work areas.

The NTC80 can also be equipped with a 37 ft to 61 ft bi-fold swing-away jib with offset configurations of 0°, 15° and 30°. Electric pinning helps speed deployment and stowing.

The crane includes a hoist drum capacity of 22,500 lb with 19 mm wire rope and a single-line pull of 17,160 lb.

An updated crane cab provides increased interior space and improved visibility. The boom tip includes an external A2B cable and optional electric-positioned boom lights and aircraft beacon warning light.

“The NTC80 reflects how we’re thinking across Manitowoc right now,” Ritter said. “Going ‘Big and Bold’ means being deliberate about how we design equipment, where we invest, and how we support customers doing critical infrastructure work. Showing this crane at CONEXPO 2026 is about demonstrating that commitment in a practical, real-world way.”
