JLG Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms and telehandlers, unveiled its 60-foot EC600AJ articulating boom lift, at the World of Concrete event held Jan. 21-23 in Las Vegas.
The EC600AJ was introduced as part of JLG’s effort to expand its electric construction portfolio in North America.
The new boom lift features an unrestricted platform capacity of 550 pounds and a restricted capacity of 750 pounds, offering a versatile solution for demanding construction and maintenance projects.
The boom lift’s 27-foot 1-inch up-and-over height allowed operators to navigate architectural obstacles while maintaining precise positioning. Its articulating design included 130 degrees of jib articulation (+70/-60 degrees) and a 400-degree non-continuous swing, making it well-suited for work in confined spaces or challenging environments.
With a platform height of 60 feet and a horizontal outreach of 36 feet, the EC600AJ was designed for applications such as facility maintenance, construction, and renovation.
"We focused on making the EC600AJ both powerful and practical, part of a new generation of JLG boom lifts designed with job sites of tomorrow in mind," Angela Patterson, product management specialist lead at JLG said.
"This model demonstrated our ongoing commitment to electrification while meeting the rugged demands of a construction environment, with performance capabilities similar to those of its diesel counterparts."
Patterson also highlighted the EC600AJ’s versatility and precise positioning capabilities, noting that it delivered the environmental benefits and lower total cost of ownership associated with electric platforms.
The EC600AJ was powered by two 10.7-kilowatt lithium-ion batteries, delivering efficient and environmentally friendly performance. Its 4WD AC drive motors enhanced terrain capability, and features such as 2-wheel steering and 4-wheel steering (4WS) modes provided exceptional maneuverability. With a 40% gradeability and a 5-degree tilt cut-out, the lift was designed to handle rugged terrain while meeting industry safety standards.
Key Features:
The EC600AJ’s compact design and transportability helped reduce costs and simplify logistics for contractors. Its combination of durability, efficiency and performance positioned it as a leader in the next generation of electric boom lifts.
