Yanmar’s Compact Expansion

The new lineup rounds out the company’s compact equipment offerings.

Yanmar’s Compact Expansion

Yanmar Compact Equipment, with 2,500 employees and over 600 dealers, ranks among the top two manufacturers of compact excavators. Compact track loaders (CTLs), however, have been the company’s fastest-growing segment, rising from 11 percent of its product mix in 2015 to 25 percent in 2024. This surge has nearly doubled overall demand for Yanmar’s compact equipment.

According to Anna Christine Sgro, president of Yanmar Compact Equipment North America, this growth is a turning point. “This full range of equipment is built on trust developed over Yanmar’s 100 years as a company, 55 of those in compact equipment,” said Sgro. “Our dealers, customers and partners rely on us to deliver machines that are not only dependable but also help them grow their businesses.”

Compact Track Loaders

Yanmar officially completed its compact equipment lineup for North America with the launch of its new Premium Red compact track loaders. This addition rounds out a product offering that now includes mini excavators, compact wheel loaders and tracked carriers, each engineered to serve construction, utility, landscaping and rental markets.

The debut was supported by a 32,000-square-foot facility expansion at the company’s headquarters in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This investment introduced a new powder coating paint system, expanded assembly lines and upgraded quality control systems, including robotic welding and laser cutting tools, all aimed at boosting efficiency and long-term machine reliability.

The new compact track loaders — TL65RS-1C, TL75VS-1C, TL80VS-1C and TL100VS — range from 67 to 103.5 horsepower and feature high-flow hydraulic capabilities, heavy-duty bar-tread tracks for improved traction, torsion axle undercarriages with rear pivot link systems for ride comfort and intuitive operator-focused controls. A 7-inch touchscreen display and SmartAssist Remote telematics are standard across the lineup, providing access to diagnostics, usage data and theft protection. With both radial- and vertical-lift configurations, the models offer performance options tailored to jobsite needs.

Mini Excavators

Yanmar ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7 mini excavators The recent introduction of the ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7 mini excavators expanded the upper end of the line. These models offer 67-hp and 72-hp engines, respectively, along with redesigned cabins, zero or ultra-tight tail swing, enhanced visibility, auto air conditioning and improved fuel efficiency. Advanced hydraulic systems, faster slope travel and floating blade functionality add to their on-site performance. Standard safety features include cameras, a 7-inch LCD control display and a SmartAssist Remote system with five years of free telematics.

In addition, Yanmar launched the ViO35-7 mini excavator, designed for greater flexibility and comfort in compact applications. Weighing 7,882 pounds and powered by a 24.4-hp engine, the ViO35-7 includes true zero tail swing, a reinforced undercarriage and a high-torque swing motor for slope work. The upgraded hydraulic system enables smoother multitasking, and the cab redesign features improved HVAC, ergonomic controls and 360-degree visibility. Operators benefit from the standard hydraulic quick coupler and a five-year SmartAssist Remote subscription.

Compact Wheel Loader

Yanmar V7 compact wheel loaderYanmar also introduced the V7 compact wheel loader, filling a gap in its wheel loader range. Positioned between the V4-7 and V8 models, the V7 features a 47.6-hp engine and 9,370-pound operating weight. The machine supports tight-space work plus or minus 40 degrees of articulation and plus or minus 10 degrees of oscillation, a compact 98.4-inch height and a low center of gravity for trailering ease. Operator-focused elements include heated suspension seating, ergonomic joystick controls, Bluetooth connectivity and dual steel-frame doors for visibility. A standard 0.92-cubic-yard bucket and optional high-capacity attachments offer flexibility, while parallel kinematics support level loading with pallet forks.

MAX-Guard

In an effort to further enhance customer support and long-term value, Yanmar launched the MAX-Guard extended warranty program for its ASV-branded compact track loaders. This program offers up to three additional years or 3,000 hours of coverage beyond the standard warranty, extending total protection to five years or 5,000 hours. Customers can choose from three plan levels: Comprehensive, Powertrain and Powertrain Plus Hydraulics. All service is conducted through authorized ASV dealers to ensure consistency in repair and maintenance quality.

“MAX-Guard reflects our promise to stand behind our equipment well beyond the point of sale,” explained Buck Storlie, director of aftermarket at Yanmar Compact Equipment North America. The warranty plans are fully transferable and can be purchased anytime during the base coverage period, giving customers added resale value and flexibility. The MAX-Guard launch follows the earlier introduction of Ycare, a similar extended warranty for the Yanmar Compact Equipment brand.

Y.O.U. Club

Yanmar Y.O.U ClubIn another move to engage operators, Yanmar also announced the upcoming launch of the Yanmar Operators United (Y.O.U.) Club, a community-based initiative aimed at compact equipment owners and enthusiasts. The program includes both online and in-person elements such as user-submitted content, quizzes, educational resources and operator challenges at trade shows and dealer events.

“This is more than just a website — it’s a community hub,” said Elsie De Nys, global brand and corporate social responsibility manager at Yanmar Compact Equipment.

The Y.O.U. Club will showcase operator skills through timed competitions using Yanmar machines and foster connection and engagement among users across different industries. Participation will be open to all, regardless of the equipment brand owned, reflecting Yanmar’s commitment to supporting operators and celebrating their expertise.
