CM Labs Develops Advisory Service to Aid Simulation Integration for Training

CM Labs Simulations announced a new advisory service to support companies with simulator adoption for enhancing training programs.

The SimGuide Service is designed to assist companies whether they are developing a simulation-based training program for the first time or extending the use of their existing Vortex simulator from CM Labs. It is also suited for companies who are incorporating simulation into new initiatives, such as operator cross-training, or as an operator recruitment and assessment tool.

JCB Introduces Subcompact Telehandler

JCB launched the 504-13 Loadall subcompact telescopic handler, developed in response to growing demand in North America for telehandlers in the under-6,000-lb. category.

With a 4,000-lb. lift capacity and maximum lift height of 13 ft. 3 in., the 504-13 is well-suited to maintenance applications, jobsite cleanup, and material handling within confined worksites. 

The 504-13 builds on the design and capability characteristics of the company’s earlier JCB 520-40 Loadall, with the addition of a new 39-hp Perkins Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel engine. Other features include:

Skyjack President to Head IPAF Leadership Team

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) confirmed the election of Brad Boehler, president of Skyjack, to the role of president of its board at the association’s annual general meeting in Dubai.

Other changes included Norty Turner of United Rentals elected as IPAF deputy president and Karin Nars of Dinolift confirmed as vice president.

Evolution Wheel Unveils New Solid Telehandler Tires

Evolution Wheel released its new EWRS-TH series of solid telehandler tires that can be repaired if damaged.

The EWRS14X24-TH telehandler tire, offering easy on-site serviceability, is 52 in. in overall diameter and 14 in. wide. Its maximum load ratings range from 18,750 lbs. at 5 mph and 9,000 lbs. at 20 mph. The patent-pending tire has a 52/32nd tread depth, and the rims are made of SSAB Strenx 700 steel.

At a dinner held in their honor, Lift and Access magazine celebrated the winners of the 2018 Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Aerial Platforms (LLEAP) awards and distributed the trophies for the two top-ranked innovative products in five categories on Feb. 17 to kick off the ARA Show in Anaheim, California.

Genie Introduces Micro Scissor Lift, Boom Lift Access Deck

Genie unveiled the compact GS-1330m scissor lift along with other new products and technologies at the 2019 ARA Show in Anaheim, California.

The GS-1330m scissor lift offers a maximum platform height of 12.8 ft., a maximum working height of 18.8 ft., a two-person, 500-lb. capacity, and weighs only 1,950 lbs.

The company also added the Lift Tools Access Deck for Z articulating booms, S telescopic booms, and GS-1930 scissor lifts, providing operators with a secondary surface to work from.

Manitou Showcases Growth with Plans for New MEWPs, Manufacturing Investments

Manitou revealed its plans at the 2019 ARA Show in Anaheim, California, to introduce five more MEWPs to its line in 2019, as well as major corporate investments with a plant dedicated to MEWP production, new customer center and showroom by 2020, and a new headquarters by 2021.

Custom Equipment LLC announced an overhaul of its Hy-Brid Lifts at the ARA Show in Anaheim, California.

The company is dividing the line into three series: the Push-Around Series (PA Series), Pro Series (PS Series) and Zero-Turn Series (ZT Series) The rebranding also included a number of safety and productivity enhancements to the existing products, as well as the introduction of two new models: the PA-1030 and ZT-1630.

Terry Dolan, Hy-Brid Lifts president and CEO says the updates will make it easier for end users to find a lift that best meets their needs.

Terex Utilities to Join Genie

Terex Corporation announced plans for Terex Utilities to join Genie in its Terex AWP business segment, effective immediately.

The company also shared its decision to sell Demag Mobile Cranes to Tadano Ltd., making the announcement as part of its financial results for 2018 with reported net sales of $5.1 billion, an increase of 18% versus net sales of $4.4 billion for the full year 2017.
