It’s not every day that you get called up to the big leagues, so when it happens you make the most of the opportunity.

When Enterprise Architectural Sales (EASI), New York, N.Y., got the call to install railings in the concourse and upper decks of Yankee Stadium—with the stipulation that any equipment used could not produce excess fumes—they knew it was time to bring in a utility player.

The call went out to SpyderCrane, and sales/rental specialist Ralph Matos went out to evaluate the job site and the required specifications. Matos' analysis determined that the SpyderCrane URW376 crawler-mounted mini-crane was the best option.

To avoid spewing unnecessary fumes in the building, a combination diesel/electric powered model was selected. Just 52 in. wide when compacted, the URW376 fit through the doors without any modifications to either the crane or the building. Its 51-ft. tip height allowed lifting the 700-lb. sections of railing into place without having to set up scaffolding. That efficiency saved significant time and reduced the project’s overall cost.

“EASI originally booked a one-week rental for the SpyderCrane, but the URW376 made the installation so much easier, it only took one day to complete the project!” said Matos. “The management at Yankee Stadium was so impressed, they are planning to request one for future jobs.”
